Entering the Season of Lent
Entering the Season of Lent

The earliest disciples were special witnesses of Christ’s resurrection; their subsequent ministry emphasized this truth. Warren Wiersbe wrote, “Most of the people in Jerusalem knew that Jesus of Nazareth had been crucified, but they did not know that He had been raised from the dead. By their words, their walk, and their mighty works, the believers told the world that Jesus was alive. This was the ‘sign of Jonah’ that Jesus had promised to the nation (Matthew 12:40) – His death, burial, and resurrection.” Wiersbe also states, “The message of the Gospel involves the truth of the resurrection; if Jesus were dead, the church would be speechless.”Jesus is alive and his church is responsive to his call! Believers exemplify the truth of the resurrection through our words, our walk and our works; by these we tell the world that Jesus is alive. During the next 40 days preceding Easter, the eduKenya team challenges you to daily spend time in the presence of the Lord. Becoming familiar, once again, with his words, his walk and his works. Let us prepare ourselves to take up his yoke and along with the first disciples, live as witnesses of Christ’s resurrection.“Then he said, ‘When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.’ Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. And he said, ‘Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ You are witnesses of all these things.” Luke 24:44-48 NLT
