Field Report: Winter 2024
Field Report: Winter 2024

Every student that sits at an eduKenya desk receives an opportunity uncommon in Mathare. They are invited into a culture of excellence, provided nutritious meals, and known from a young age. All of this is made possible because of people like you, who have prayerfully and financially supported us.

Read along and celebrate what unfolded in November and December!

30 young men and women celebrated a significant milestone alongside friends and family. 85% of the class qualified for direct advancement to university, technical, and vocational education. We are proud of our students’ performance and who they have become.

They did it!

First Day of School

Our facilities have been cleaned and prepared for a new school year! Students enjoyed a break from mid-November to early-January. We are now kicking off a new school year, and students get a fresh start. New friendships will form, classes will challenge them, and we will have new opportunities to invest in the hearts of our students.

Prayer request: Please pray that our students are undistracted, trust our teachers, and take hold of the truths we impart to them.

Newest Students

We received many applicants for our youngest class of learners. After conducting interviews and assessing the children’s level of need, we have accepted 20 new Play Group students (age 3). They have started their first classes, and are getting adjusted to their new environment.

Prayer request: That children would feel safe, and connect with their teacher. Above all, pray that their hearts are receptive to the Gospel.

Farming Project in Mitaboni, Kenya

We are currently developing 15 acres of land in Mitaboni, Kenya in partnership with the Well Coffeehouse in Nashville, TN. We have completed soil testing, drilling, and water testing and are now building the necessary infrastructure to house staff and prepare the land for farming.

Prayer request: Thank the Lord with us for a smooth process, and for his provision. Pray that it will yield abundant crops, and that we steward this gift wisely.

Growing Presence in the Marketplace

Our Skill Training Program equips parents with a basic business education and marketable skills to provide for their families. Our staff are developing new products, and expanding its marketing efforts to in-person and online markets.

Prayer request: That the Lord would bless our trainees with skill and give us favor as we nurture key relationships in Nairobi. May the Lord give us wisdom in teaching, and marketing.
