He is also a very busy man at Mawewa School: Class 6 teacher, English and English Literature instructor, captain of Team Green, and last year, school library organizer. Outside of Mawewa, Lewin is pursuing a bachelor degree in education part-time at Mount Kenya University.Given this hectic schedule, it is astonishing that Lewin volunteered to teach another class in 2015! After several Mawewa School support staff had asked for his help, he agreed to teach an English-basics class during the after-school hours. Lewin says teaching this class gives him much joy. It also has the reputation of being extremely entertaining!

It will come as no surprise that Lewis Obwora received the honor of 2015 Mawewa School Employee of the Year, which included a KES 10,000 ($97.63 US) award. His dedication and sacrifice on behalf of his students, children and adult, certainly deserves high commendation. Further, we applaud his commitment to his education that, in turn, will raise the standard of child education in Kenya.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
