It's Exam Week
It's Exam Week

Our Class 8 students will be sitting for their KCPE exams between March 7th -10th. These are yearly exams which determine high school entry for primary school students in Kenya. After these exams, we hope all of our students will join us at Chelezo High School, but some may choose to join other schools all around the country. Due to COVID school closures and the resulting condensed school year, there has been a lot of pressure on both our teachers and students to complete preparations for this national exam in 9 weeks instead of the usual 14 weeks. On February 24th, our eduKenya staff in Nairobi met with our Class 7s and 8s in the Mawewa School Hall to pray for our KCPE exam candidates.

Miss. Sherrine Wanjala, our Class 8 Teacher, encouraged our students with these emotional words:

“My dear boys and girls… These next two weeks are, I suppose, the last moments we will see each other together in one place. Today, you are partly who you are because of the sincerity and commitment of each staff member here. You have tested and enriched your mind… Your knowledge is the accumulation of the wisdom and integrity that you have taken from them. Your aptitude, skills, integrity and intelligence have made you grow stronger… I'm proud that you will successfully achieve what has been meant for you. Among you I see teachers, artists, entrepreneurs, writers, engineers, doctors, scientists and other successful men and women. You are a treasure not only to us but to this country as well.”

As our students make their final preparations before their exams please take the time to pray with us.

Dear Lord,

As our students prepare for an intense week of exams we pray that You will quiet any anxious thoughts inside them. When various distractions tempt them, help them remain focused and calm. We pray that You will bring to mind what they have studied when they answer the exam questions. Give them an understanding of each topic, and peace when the time comes, so that they finish strong.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
