013 Stanley Wambua

Stanley’s mother works in the Export Processing Zone in Nairobi, and his father is a Pastor. Stanley is the beloved older brother to Bridget, 9, who also attends Mawewa School.Stanley loves to swim and is an outstanding soccer player - one of the best in Mawewa School. One of his athletic role models is Lionel Messi, one of the top soccer players in the world. Closer to home, he admires his teacher, Mr. Obwora, who is good at soccer and a great teacher.Stanley is ambitious and would like to attend a top national school, Mang’u Boys School, for his secondary education. With that goal in mind, Stanley is committed to doing well and spent part of his term-break studying before going outside to play soccer with his friends.Prayer Requests: Pray for Stanley’s family and for his dream to attend Mang’u Boys School.

003 Mercy Mutheu

Mercy joined the Mawewa School in 2013 and is the top female student. Mercy loves how her teachers explain class lessons and that they teach about God.One of her role models is Mawewa School teacher, Ms. Angatia, who is "inspirational and fun." Mercy would like to attend Buruburu Girl's School, one of the best schools in Nairobi County, for her secondary education.Mercy is the eldest of three siblings. Her mother runs a shop in Mathare and her father is a teacher. At home, Mercy loves to help her parents and siblings. Two things she likes to do is draw and swim. She is spending part of her term-break studying, but also socializing with friends. Mercy hopes to be a nurse when she is grown.Prayer Requests: Pray for Mercy’s continued good health and that her family will have their needs met.
