Stephen is a nine year old boy in the Third Grade whose favorite subject is Christian Education. Stephen wants to be a pastor when he grows up and his favorite activity outside of school is playing soccer.

Stephen lives with his parents and siblings in the Mathare slum. His parents are both casual laborers, working odd jobs each day to provide for the family while earning well under $2/day. The little Stephen’s parents earn each day is just enough to pay for food.Stephen said, “I am thankful for the support and food I receive at school.
