National Mourning in Kenya
National Mourning in Kenya

Kenya has begun three days of national mourning for victims of the devastating terrorist attacks at Nairobi's Westgate shopping center. The death toll currently stands at 72, though is expected to rise as rubble from parts of the collapsed mall building is cleared. We are relieved that our staff, as well as all children and families served by eduKenya, are safe. Yet we mourn with those who mourn and pray for God's comfort and peace. Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). For those whose loved ones were lost, who are experiencing heartbreaking grief, we pray for this miraculous comfort. As funerals are held for victims, flags are flown at half mast and the country continues to process the atrocity, please join us in mourning with those who mourn and praying for peace and the comfort that only God can provide.
