Sheryne Wanjala - Substitute Teacher[/caption]

But generous people plan to do what is generous, and they stand firm in their generosity. Isaiah 32:8

Six weeks ago, Sheryne Wanjala joined the Mawewa School staff as a substitute teacher. She graciously agreed to share her initial impressions about working at Mawewa School.

"I was warmly received on my first day at Mawewa School. I was nervous at first but impressed with everybody’s hospitality all the way from the administration, the teachers, the pupils and the support staff. The students showed the highest level of discipline and respect unlike those in the other places I have worked. The Mawewa pupils are very ambitious and industrious. I admired their different blossoming talents too.

I am grateful for this opportunity. One of the key things that have motivated me since coming to Mawewa School is that I can continue with my studies. There is no limit to what I can achieve if I put my mind to it. This is a place for one to grow and be a person who contributes to the welfare of the community.I aspire to one day reach the less privileged communities after I acquire an education that can help them eradicate poverty. Having a well-equipped and empowered society with different skill sets and knowledge will economically boost our country. I strongly believe that the journey of a thousand kilometers starts with a single step, and Mawewa is the place to start. Long live Mawewa!"
