He has touched the lives of many through his work at eduKenya and his singing and songwriting.Njenga, the eduKenya Community Support Ministry Coordinator, serves our students and their families faithfully as he acts on their behalf with our organization and community services. He loves being a part of what God is doing in Mathare through eduKenya and believes in the potential of the people whom he serves.Njenga, the musician - stage name “V.O.H.” (Vessel of Honor) - describes himself as a Kikuyu gospel rapper with the aim of reaching out, preaching, and restoring hope to the hopeless through music. His goal is to create awareness about societal issues and lead people to the ultimate solution - Jesus Christ.[caption id="attachment_3212" align="aligncenter" width="565"]
Njenga performing with backup singers and dancers[/caption]On August 14, Njenga launched his album, “Ikara Na Ngai” (Stay with God), at a benefit concert in Nairobi. More than 500 people, including some eduKenya/Mawewa School staff, students, and parents, attended the affair hosted by the Prayers Beyond Boundaries Temple.[caption id="attachment_3213" align="aligncenter" width="565"]

Pauline Ng’ang’a, eduKenya Communications and Marketing Coordinator, and Stella Ndiho, eduKenya Fundraising Coordinator, spoke to the audience on behalf of eduKenya. A portion of the concert proceeds went directly to support the Mawewa School.Joseph Voh Njenga became interested in music as a young boy and sang with his mother at church services. He wrote his first song when he was in Class 6 and formed a band with friends during high school. He recorded his first two songs in 2009 and released his first album in 2011. VOH performs at many venues, spreading the message of the gospel through music that resonates with so many people in search of answers to life's most pressing dilemmas.The eduKenya team is grateful that Njenga shared his album release concert with us! We are proud of our co-worker and wish him great success in both of his careers!
