On the way to our annual Senior Leadership hike last December, the bus got stuck midway to the campsite. The seniors all had to get out of the bus and attempt to push it out of the mud, but even with the force of the entire graduating class behind it, the bus would not budge. There were a lot of fun and games in the process, and everyone got eachother very dirty. The bus had to be pulled out of the mud by Kenya Wildlife Service, and we had to hike the rest of the way to the campsite.
The Senior Leadership program is designed to help the students apply the 7 Transformational Milestones they've been developing with us since grade school. It's an opportunity for them to grow, bond, and problem solve. Although the bus getting stuck was not a planned part of our trip, the students rose to the occasion with gusto and camaraderie, solving the problem and traveling to the campsite on foot, together.
We hope that whenever life has you feeling stuck in the mud, you have friends to walk alongside you as our students did that day in December.
