Transforming Lives
Transforming Lives

eduKenya has been called to work with the children of Mathare. Our programs and efforts focus on children. Everything we do is to touch their lives. When many of our students first join us, they are at a lifestage in which they have been the least corrupted and jaded by this broken world and the circumstances they are living in. Over the years, as we invest in their education, we strive to pour into them God’s love, mercy, and grace that helps them identify their purpose. We believe that the transformation of Mathare is happening every day through every positive interaction we have with the students in our care. As they are transformed, they become the transformers of their community. That is our goal.

Recently one of our Senior Chelezo High School students, Ivy, wrote to Ajema Kikuyu-Ngumba our Kenya director:Dear Mrs Ngumba,

I would like to take this opportunity, with a lot of honour and love, just to appreciate you for the big impact you have brought in our lives. I personally don’t take it for granted, but thank the Lord for His grace.

…If it was not for eduKenya, I personally would not be where I am today. I am empowered, compassionate for other peoples’ needs, a good positive change agent, open minded, I know how to practice self-control and also know the meaning of physical wellness among many other things…

Thank you eduKenya for transforming our lives. You have been our family and care for us. Thank you for your love and support. I promise to uphold the mission, vision, core values and milestones. Through all these, I am confident and bold enough to change my community…
Ivy is the fruit of our collective labor in Mathare. For more than a decade she has been a part of our schools. She has been transformed and in turn, by God’s grace, she will transform her community. Thank you for partnering with us to give her the opportunity to do so.
