Water Project Update
Water Project Update

Our work on our land in Mitaboni, which is the future home of Chelezo High School, continues. Our final step in this phase of development involved the mounting and final assembly of our water tank, which was completed on March 18, 2025.

This process involved general assembly followed by stabilizing the tank from within. With the framework fully in place, the team got straight to work tightening the bolts to ensure every connection was secure and watertight.

This critical step paved the way for the leakage test that followed—filling the tank with water and carefully inspecting every seam, joint, and bolted area. The process, which took about 4 to 6 working days, confirmed that the tank was ready to serve its purpose.

Finally, the team completed the roof and plumbing, sealing the tank. During this process, our professional partners from a reputable company in Kenya, with expertise in water and energy solutions, also worked to set up solar panels, which will sustainably power our water pump.

We now have a working borehole, water tank and pump. We are grateful to The Well Coffeehouse, our special partners, who provided the resources to make this project possible.

We are also thankful to you, our long-term partners who have walked with us year after year, in all our different locations, be it our humble beginnings in tin shacks in Jangwani over 15 years ago, to our Mawewa Primary School building in Mathare, and our current Chelezo High School leased property in Wote. You have been faithfully giving so that our students would thrive, wherever they were, as they received a Christ-centered, holistic education that can break the cycle of poverty in Mathare.

As we continue to work towards our long-term home for Chelezo High School in Mitaboni, we want to express our gratitude for your generosity. Together we will see the fruits of our labor completed. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Stay tuned for more stories of impact as we continue on our mission of transformation!
